Paul Klausner provides the firm with expertise in transactional, contracting, corporate governance, healthcare, regulatory and compliance matters.
Paul often serves as outside general counsel for companies without in-house counsel. Depending on the need, Paul serves as strategic advisor or details-focused business lawyer – and often both – always concentrating on achieving his client’s desired results.
Paul’s prior experience as a key member of senior management at large organizations and years as a practitioner at a large law firm enables him to provide sophisticated legal services without the overhead of a large office. Paul prides himself on finding innovative practical solutions geared to serving business needs and desired outcomes.
Paul has served as general counsel of leading managed care companies, acting as day-to-day counsel on a wide variety of matters relating to the ownership and management of Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans (including the largest plan in Puerto Rico) and affiliated MSO operations and provider clinics, as well as performing general corporate work. Paul also has served as counsel to independent provider groups, including groups serving Medicare Advantage and Medicaid beneficiaries.
Earlier in his career Paul served as General Counsel and then Executive Vice President, Acquisitions and Development, of a NYSE-listed owner, manager and developer of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
Paul started his legal career as an associate in the corporate department of Arnold & Porter (Kaye Scholer).
